Upcoming Field Trip
On February 26th, we will be heading to the Grand Rapids Symphony. For this trip we do not need any chaperones. We will be leaving right after special for an 11:15 performance. Since we will not return to school until after lunch, we will be stopping at McDonalds/Taco Bell/KFC in Jenison to have lunch. Please send enough money for your child to buy lunch OR students can pack a lunch to eat at the restaurant.
Read-a-Thon
The Read-a-Thon is Friday, March 4th. A pizza lunch will be provided that day for all 5th graders. Students will have an opportunity to earn prizes that day. If you are interested in donating a prize or a few dollars to purchase some prizes, please send it in anytime between now and March 1st.
Subject Overview
Reading: Students are working on ELA test taking strategies.
Writing: Students are writing historical fiction stories.
Math: Students will be solving real world story problems using all operations.
SS: Students will have their Colony packet test Tuesday, Feb. 16th.
Science: Students are studying what the function is of the respiratory system and how it works. Look for your child’s circulatory quiz that went home today. Students should be reviewing their notes daily for about 5-10 mins.
Technology Update: Symbaloo Website,Moby Max, and Gmail
Every 5th grader was emailed a link to our 5th grade Symbaloo site. This site has all of the important links on it for easy access at home or school.
