Camp Pendalouan Update
Students signed up today for a cabin buddy and an activity partner.  We assured the students that everyone would be in a cabin and activity group if they were unable to sign up today.  If your child seems upset or concerned, please encourage them to talk with us.  We will make sure everyone is with friends and having a blast!

There will be a mandatory parent meeting April 17th at 7pm in our gym. Matt Abel, YMCA Camp Pendalouan director, will be here with a slideshow presentation, explaining all about camp life.  He will also answer any questions you or your child may have.  You will be given a packet filled with directions, packing suggestions, schedules, cabin assignments, activity group assignments, schedules, etc.  Please make this meeting a top priority with your child!

After this meeting, there will be a short meeting for the parent chaperones going to camp. Next week, your child will bring home information regarding any final payments that might still be owed.

Read-a-Thon Recap
Today was all about READING.  The students did a wonderful job during the annual Read-A-Thon.  They had almost three hours to read independently, enjoyed a visit from Mr. Field  and Mr. Tom as guest readers, ate a wonderful pizza lunch, and participated in a five round prize drawing!  Thanks to all of the parents who were able to donate prizes and time to make the Read-a-Thon a huge success.

Middle School Transition
Yesterday, the students headed to the high school for a Middle School Kick-Off assembly. The assembly included a showcase of our secondary music programs and provided the 5th graders a brief video overview of the courses available to them next year.
Course selections will be sent home sometime the week of March 12th. On March 16th, our 5th graders will be trying out the different instruments available for band and orchestra.  The choir teacher will also be here to talk with kids who are interested in choir.
