Thank you so much for the incredible response to our 5th grade camp fundraiser can drive.  Kids may collect this weekend; however no cans can be brought to school on Monday.  All money should be turned in on Monday.  Winning classes will be announced late next week.

Math Help?
We encourage students to take their math notebook and textbook home to help with their homework. That way they can use them as a resource if they forgot how to do their homework.   If they forgot their materials or need additional help, the following links can be used:

Reading Homework
Remember your child needs to be reading throughout the week. The goal is to read at least 140 minutes in a week. When they do read, they can read anything as long as they are reading. You may want to suggest a book that will help them reach their 40 book challenge.  Signed weekly logs are always due on Mondays.

Subject Overview
Reading:  Students have been settling into reading workshop and have started reading their 40 book challenge.
ELA+:  Students are crafting personal narratives, where they are bringing small moments to life for the reader.
Math: Students are studying fractions.  The test will be on Thursday, Oct. 6th.
SS: Students are studying Three Worlds Meet, with a focus on Europe, America, and Africa.
Science: Students are studying an inquiry based unit on force and motion. This is a fun and hands-on on unit where students are creating investigations within a collaborative group.
