Can Drive Update!
Thank you so much for the overwhelming support shown during our can drive! There was just over $3,100 raised!!! A special thank you to the volunteers who brought back over 31,000 cans-YUCK!!! The winning classes were Mrs. Hendree’s and Mrs. Higgs’.
Halloween News
Our Halloween Party will be Monday, Oct 31st from 1:40-2:40 pm. Costumes are allowed for the party. Please make sure that their costume is school appropriate (for example, no blood, gore, knives, guns). We will be having a school wide parade this year to the Laurels’, at 1:00. Math Help?
We encourage students to take their math notebook and textbook home to help with their homework. That way they can use them as a resource if they forgot how to do their homework. If they forgot their materials or need additional help, the following links can be used:

Subject Overview
Reading: Students have begun the unit, Insight into Characters. Students build theories about characters and gather evidence to support their ideas.
Writing: Students are beginning a unit on Essays, which will include a thesis(claim) and supporting evidence. Be sure to ask what topic your student chose.
Math: Unit 2 is over decimals- place value, addition, and subtraction of them will be emphasized. Be on the lookout for homework pages
SS: Students are studying Three Worlds Meet- the Old World (Europe), the New World (North America), and Africa.
Science: Students are studying an inquiry based unit on force and motion. This is a fun and hands-on on unit where students are creating investigations within a collaborative group.
